IWC's Spirit of Engineering and Innovation

As early as the 1970s and 1980s, IWC pioneered the use of titanium and introduced ceramics to the world of watchmaking; by the mid-1980s, the brand had launched the first fully synchronized perpetual calendar watch. A spirit of engineering and R&D has long been deeply ingrained in IWC’s brand DNA. Furthermore, the fact that the brand was founded by an American engineer set us apart from the stylistic conventions of traditional watchmaking—perhaps this is the very root of our unique identity.

The all-new IWC space-exploration watch—indeed, we gained our initial experience in the space sector through participation in the "Inspiration4" and "Polaris Dawn" crewed spaceflight missions. This latest offering, however, is truly purpose-built for space. Of course, this is just the beginning; it is the first watch to be certified for spaceflight and has undergone comprehensive testing by Vast, a commercial space station company. We have accumulated a wealth of experience from this process, paving the way for the development of future products. Buy IWC clone watches online, buy replica watches at twatchclone.

Comprehensive testing by Vast required strict weight control alongside rigorous evaluations of launch sequences and shock resistance to ensure the watch could withstand extreme environments. Furthermore, we factored in the extreme temperature fluctuations of space—ranging from -150°C to +100°C—as well as intense cosmic radiation during the product's design and functional development. Astronauts aboard the space station experience 16 sunrises and sunsets a day; consequently, the watch features a 24-hour display and a dual-time function. Amidst these frequent transitions between day and night, it clearly distinguishes between work and rest periods, displaying both Earth time (to synchronize with ground-based schedules) and mission time (to help astronauts plan their daily routines in space).

The concept of a bidirectional adjustable perpetual calendar had long been an aspiration, and we have finally realized it. We achieved this breakthrough this year thanks to our long-standing expertise and years of accumulated experience in professional perpetual calendar technology. We had previously received feedback from the market suggesting that earlier implementations felt premature, with users desiring a more intuitive and convenient way to adjust the calendar. Traditional perpetual calendar systems could not meet these needs, driving our desire to develop a system that allowed for bidirectional adjustment.

In the project's early stages, we attempted to implement a retrograde adjustment function on a guilloché perpetual calendar; however, such movements rely on lever-based mechanisms. Despite creating and repeatedly testing numerous prototypes, we were unable to find a solution that was both stable and durable enough for a finished product. After much deliberation, we resolved to move away from the traditional perpetual calendar architecture and develop an entirely new system from scratch. This innovative retrograde perpetual calendar movement features a radically different structure and incorporates precision components manufactured using LIGA micro-fabrication technology. The internal gears require a mechanism that allows teeth to extend and retract while meshing—a feat demanding extreme precision that is only achievable through LIGA technology, a method never before employed in classic perpetual calendars. We finalized a design utilizing these new techniques and mechanical structures, and the development process has now been successfully completed.

Previous perpetual calendar modules—such as the Klaus system—relied exclusively on lever-based mechanisms; because these levers operated smoothly in only one direction, reverse movement encountered immense resistance and was highly prone to jamming. In contrast, a retrograde perpetual calendar requires bidirectional functionality. Consequently, our new design employs a purely gear-driven system, completely eliminating levers. By relying on the continuous, fluid rotation of gears to execute all timekeeping functions—including date changes—it represents a fundamentally different approach to watchmaking technology. The new mechanism integrates the entire operational logic within a "program wheel"; this wheel automatically controls the extension and retraction of gear teeth based on the number of days in a month. Furthermore, the system incorporates both an internal clutch mechanism and an external auxiliary clutch, the latter serving primarily as a protective safeguard https://www.twatchclone.ru/.
